What track are you on?

This past summer my husband and I biked many, many miles. We stopped in many quaint little towns and ate lunch in their local mom and pop restaurants. We sat on the edge of hill and watched a farmer's golden wheat field blowing ever so gently with the breeze. We stood quietly on a bridge looking down at a herd of cows below us waiting to hear them "moo". We walked our bikes through a misty dark tunnel with only a pinhole of light in front of us to be our guide. I could go on and on about the amazing sights and sounds that we experienced biking this summer, but I will save them for another time.

I want to share with you about our final bike ride of the summer. The sights and sounds of this trip will never be erased from my mind and heart. Take a look for yourself.

When I saw this train it immediately took me back to my childhood. My grandparents lived in the upstairs of a train depot in the UP of Michigan. We loved to visit them and hear the magical sound of the train clicking on the track. Every time a train would pass by I would wave at the conductor and he always waved back. I never knew who they were or where they were going. I often wondered where the tracks would lead me.

Do you ever wonder what track you are on now? Just like the train, life can take us many places. Sometimes the ride is smooth and other times it might feel rough, but the good part of the train of life is that God is the conductor. He knows exactly what track we are on. He knows how long it will take to get to our destination. We don't have to worry that we won't make it, because we will arrive right on time. We can trust our conductor.

The LORD will guide you always...

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD

Dear God,
Life is so challenging these days. At times I wonder if things will ever change. I need to have hope that you are still in control and that with you anything can happen.

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at hem and said,
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Mark 9:23
"If you can?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes.
Dear God,
Thank you for speaking to me. All things are possible with you. I BELIEVE in you.

Can I hear your voice?

Dear God,
I am looking for your direction in my life. Can I really hear your voice? I want to. Please speak to me.

Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,
"This is the way; walk in it."
Deuteronomy 32:1
Listen, O heavens, and I will speak;
hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Psalm 46:10a
Be Still and know that I am God.
Dear God,
I get it. I need to be still so that I will hear your voice. Please help me to be still.

Waiting on God

Dear God,
I have been waiting on you for a long time. I must admit that I wonder if you have a plan for my life. Please speak to me.

Job 42:1
Then Job replied to the Lord:
"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted."
Romans 4:20
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God,
but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.
Job 22:21
Submit to God and be at peace with Him;
in this way prosperity will come to you.
Dear God,
Thank you for showing me that no matter how long I have waited on You, Your plan will happen in Your timing. I must submit. Thank you for speaking to me today.

Dare to Begin

Dear God,
I am afraid. I believe there is something that you want me to do, but I do not feel qualified to do it. Please encourage me today.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;
do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go"
Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 25:12
Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
Dear God,
You will go with me wherever I go. I need to seek you for answers and you will instruct me in the way I should go. Thank you God.

You are FAITHFUL

Dear God,
Throughout the years I have had valley and mountaintop experiences. I am actually in a valley time right now. I know you will be faithful, but please remind me of that.

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.
Psalm 33:4
For the word of the Lord is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.
Psalm 145:13-14
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
Dear God,
Thank you for reminding me of your faithfulness.

I am not alone.

Dear God,
I feel so alone. Someone I love is no longer with me. It hurts. I'm scared. I am weak and tired. Oh God, please speak to me at this time.

Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he,
I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust;
I will not be afraid.
James 4:8a
Come near to me and I will come near to you.
Dear God,
You will carry me through this. Please give me a glimmer of hope today. Thank you for your promise that I do not need to be afraid. You will rescue me from this dark time in my life. Thank you God.
